The Eight***

An impeccable Michelin three-star Chinese restaurant.

I remember it was a long time ago when I first visited the Eight. At that time I didn’t care about Michelin or fine dining, I just want to try the famous suckling pig filled with fried rice and preserved meat. To be honest this dish did not surprise me, instead I felt a bit brutal.

What really intrigues me at the Eight is its range of exquisite dim sum, which keeps me coming back. Not only exquisite but also very tasty, like the steamed dumplings with crystal blue shrimps, steamed dumplings with pork and mushroom, baked tartelette and steamed barbecued pork buns. They are too cute.

For me, it’s not a perfect ending without desserts, so I ordered the chilled mango and coconut pudding in goldfish shape and the puff pastry with egg custard in light genseng flavour, delicious! The restaurant also provides a petit four which includes a mini Portuguese tart and a cup of milk tea, a taste of Macau.

Definitely worth going, a must visit restaurant in Macau.

一家米其林三星的中餐廳,無可挑剔。

還記得第一次去8已是很久以前的事,當時對米其林或fine dining沒什麼感覺,純粹是為了那個傳說中的原隻乳豬焗飯去的。說實話這個乳豬焗飯沒有驚豔到我(感覺挺殘酷),反而是那些精緻點心甜品吸引到我的目光(就是愛好看的,所以後面幾次都是為了點心)。不只精緻還非常好吃,像是藍天使蝦金魚餃,x.o.醬豚肉刺蝟水晶餃,葡香焗蟹撻,特色叉燒包,和鴛鴦金魚凍。另外法國鵝肝金錢雞,山楂燒肉排,和奶皇人參酥的味道也不錯。最後的餐後甜品是有澳門特色的葡撻和奶茶,喜歡吃甜的這杯奶茶會合口味(我就覺得這個甜度剛好),不吃甜的就很可能覺得太甜。

來澳門的話,絕對推薦8餐廳,是一家值得去品嚐和體驗的餐廳(提前訂位才是重點)。
