Starts at the Bund, ends at the Bund.
Haven’t had Korean cuisine after I returned back to Macau, last time I already had the desire to come to Chi-Q but it is better to have more people to share the food. Located at Three on the Bund, Chi-Q (Michelin Guide 2017 – 2 fork & spoon) is a modern Korean restaurant opened by Jean-Georges and his wife Marja, it is stylish with dark lighting.
I was glad they have someone who speaks Cantonese, she recommended few popular dishes and advised us the amount of food for five. We had six different types of cold Korean side dishes to start off the dinner, for sure I love kimchi as well as the sweet potato mash. Ordered those popular starters and it was not bad at all, love the kingfish sashimi and crab noodle salad, the salad was really spicy though. Foie gras kimchi mandoo and steak tartar was good too, but I wasn’t into the way the steak tartar was presented.
The highlight was still the Korean charcoal grill, what’s better than wrapping the wagyu beef, rice, and kimchi with lettuce. The lamb rack was tender and tasty, I kept eating. Not a big fan of the spicy seafood hotpot, I required less spicy so the flavour became too light, my fault.
All three desserts were pleasant, didn’t expect the matcha opera was that delicious.
I miss my Korean friend.
